If you are building your property, it is valuable to know what type of internet you are going to connect as early as possible. From there, you can inform your builder, and ensure they prepare the site for that type of install. Standard delivery time frames for services vary from 30 minutes to 6 months depending on carrier, product and location. All carriers can hold up an order if it is ready too early; most carriers find it difficult to speed up an order if it is late. Telecommunications needs to be ordered the minute you sign your lease, so site checks should be completed whilst you are looking at locations, or at least the moment you have settled on a new premises.
HAVE A DOCUMENTED PLAN AND SHARE IT AROUND
Documenting key dates, including goal day 1 trading date, milestones dates such as technician appointments, and last day available at the old premise, will help align tasks and resources. When disseminated to upstream suppliers and employees, it also keeps them in the loop, and keeps them honest!
